2016 G Fest Sponsorship Profile

Updated October 23, 2015

The 1st annual Muskogee Music Festival, G Fest, is designed as a three day outdoor eclectic music experience. It will be held at Hatbox Field located just off Highway 69 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Hatbox Field/Love Hatbox Sports Complex is strategically located just West of Highway 69 on Arline Drive in Muskogee, OK. Within 125 miles, there is a population base of approximately 4.7 million people.

Muskogee, Oklahoma is home to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF), which was established by the State Legislature in 1995 to honor, preserve, and promote the rich musical heritage of the State of Oklahoma. The State of Oklahoma has produced an eclectic mix of musical artists over the years and currently hosts a number of festivals that specialize in Country, Rock, or Bluegrass. Initial funding for this event is underwritten by The City of Muskogee and The City of Muskogee Foundation.

G Fest presents an opportunity of no other festival, reuniting a legendary artist with the very city that was vital to his early success. Merle Haggard recorded the live album, “Okie From Muskogee” at the Muskogee Civic Center on October 10, 1969, subsequently winning “Album of the Year” by ACM and CMA. The return forty-seven years later to the town that was always referred to as “back home” during Haggard’s childhood and selected by CMT as the All-Time #1 Country Music song about cities will create a homecoming that Haggard fans will not want to miss. Co-headliner, The Avett Brothers, sets the tone for a true “eclectic” event. Complimenting the lineup with Red Dirt acts The Turnpike Troubadours and Jason Boland & The Stragglers.

G Fest will attract patrons from a 250+ mile radius to partake in this experience. It will play a crucial and long-term role in developing additional tourism dollars to the Muskogee area. The primary demographic will be comprised of 18-45 year-old fans from this region. As the event matures and builds a reputation as a premier “Eclectic music festival” in the country, the economic impact will grow. The Muskogee Music Festival melds the talent of a highly successful regional concert promoter with award-winning and experienced international music producers.

The City of Muskogee, Muskogee Tourism, and The Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce prove strong support for the development of this event. In addition, regional businesses and civic leaders understand the importance of developing such an event that portends future success for years to come. G Fest creates a tremendous opportunity to create a branding and a new identity for Muskogee highlighting corporate citizenship, community involvement, and social responsibility through a charitable tie-in. G Fest will become a major event which will focus national/regional attention on the area as well as give back to the community. G Fest is not just another event but rather a vehicle to revitalize a historic town and instill new found pride.
